Alpha 0.0.31a is a game update released on 30 September 2026. This patch rebalances Sorcerer spells and Knight feats, adds Arcana experience from casting, and fixes party travel, trading and combat bugs.

Balance Changes

Sorcerer

  • Casting spells now grants Arcana experience when you spend an action, spell slot, charge or use, with more experience awarded for higher spell ranks.
  • Most buff and utility spells now cost a bonus action instead of a full action, allowing you to cast a damaging spell alongside them.

Arcanist Bloodline

  • Infusion now allows all Arcanists to deliver touch spells at range.
  • Distant Touch now increases the damage of touch spells carried through Infusion by 20%.
  • Arcane Compulsion now gives each enemy disadvantage on its first save against your spells in a fight.
  • Stored Power now grants up to three charges from spells that use slots, each adding 5% spell damage for 10 minutes, with new charges refreshing the duration and casts no longer consuming them.

Solstice Bloodline

  • Intensify now also strengthens an existing burn when you apply more Burning to the same enemy.
  • Eclipse can now be switched on once and off once per fight at no action cost.

Spell

Increased damage and level scaling for the spells below. Cantrips and Novice spells now gain an additional increase at level 4.

The tables show damage dice before other bonuses, with multiple rays or missiles written as their count multiplied by their dice.

Spellcasting in Armor

Cloth now gives class spells additional casting bonuses. Your body armor determines how armor affects your spellcasting.

Body armor Spell attacks Enemy saving throws
Cloth or no body armor +20 accuracy Your spell save difficulty increases by 2
Light No casting accuracy bonus Unchanged
Medium -20 accuracy Your spell save difficulty decreases by 2
Heavy Roll with disadvantage Enemies roll with advantage

  • Other armor slots and shields do not affect spellcasting armor weight.
  • Spells cast from items and spells that cannot miss are unaffected by armor.

Warrior

Knight

  • Renamed Dualist to Duelist.
  • Duelist parry chance now scales with level: 10% at level 1, 15% at level 5, 20% at level 9, 25% at level 13, 30% at level 16 and 35% at level 19.
  • Riposte now uses your weapon's damage type and can trigger item effects.
  • Riposte now triggers once per round after a dodge, block or parry for every Knight, including Duelists.
  • Ripostes triggered by a parry now have advantage on critical strike rolls.
  • Severing now triggers on melee critical hits against all enemies, including bosses. It still always triggers on melee hits against Normal or Elite enemies below half health.
  • Severing now deals 1d4 extra damage, scaling to 1d6 at level 9, 1d8 at level 13 and 1d10 at level 17. The target must make a Constitution save to avoid a disabled limb.
  • Severing now always inflicts Severed Tendon, which reduces accuracy and evasion by 20 for four rounds, or two rounds on a successful save.
  • Commanding Presence now activates on command instead of automatically, granting the party advantage on its next attacks once per long rest.

Damage & Defenses

  • Boar Rush now adds 1d4 weapon damage against nearby enemies, with full charges still adding your proficiency bonus and reaching up to six times your movement speed.
  • Force damage now penetrates half of the defender's armor and ignores physical resistance.
  • Corroding now removes 15 armor per stack, up to 45 armor.
  • Crowd control spells are now more effective against Elite enemies, Exalted Elites and Bosses, with reduced saving throw bonuses against spell conditions.
  • Disarming an enemy now leaves them Disarmed for an hour of game time.
  • Your party can now only hold captives up to two levels above you. Captives continue following your party.
  • Enemies are now more likely to target whoever is fighting them in melee.

Interface

  • Rage, Boar Rush, Exsanguinate and similar abilities can now be activated like spells.
  • Boar Rush and other strike ability cards now show travel distance and bonus damage separately from weapon damage.
  • Spell cards now show a separate scaling row for each level at which a spell improves.
  • Ability damage breakdowns in the spellcasting interface can now be expanded or collapsed.
  • Mage Armor and aura cards now show their armor bonus at your level, or explain when your equipment prevents it from applying.
  • Spellcasting now shows each target's save chance, modifier and difficulty together, followed by the effect of a successful save.
  • The character sheet and body armor cards now explain how your armor affects class spells.
  • The character sheet now shows Duelist parry chance, and attack results show when you parry instead of dodge.
  • Buying ammunition that does not fit your ranged weapon now shows a warning.
  • Gaining Hidden now shows its attack and defense benefits alongside its movement cost.
  • Burning effects now show their remaining damage and duration in rounds.
  • Stacked bleeds now appear as one Bleeding effect, with a tooltip showing their damage and current number of stacks.
  • Mage Armor and aura rows in the spellbook now show their action cost, resistance and armor bonuses without opening the spell card.
  • True Temper's description now specifies that it requires a natural roll of 18 or higher.

General Improvements

  • The Sell tab and companion pack now list your newest pickups first.
  • Equipping and removing gear no longer adds separate messages for each effect gained or lost.
  • Updated 32 character voices.
