Alpha 0.0.32 is a game update released on 28 October 2026. This patch introduces an illustrated world map with interiors, boss fights that shift through phases, town markets driven by supply and demand, new secret bosses and a more helpful Narrator.

Halloween Dice

Halloween in Valdaria runs until 8 November.

  • Halloween dice: Two new masterwork Halloween dice skins, Witching Hour and Spirit Flame, are available in the dice store during the event.
  • New standard dice: Four new standard dice skins, Cotton Candy, Pearlescent, Nightshade and Suzani, are also available in the dice store.
  • Free for members: Everyone with a paid membership can claim Jack o' Lantern, an exclusive masterwork dice skin, from the cosmetics store.
  • Rotating lineup: The dice store's skins now rotate on a regular schedule, so grab a skin you like before it leaves the store.

Illustrated World Map

Valdaria now has an illustrated world map that works hand in hand with the game engine, so any place drawn on it, from a whole region down to a single street or building interior, is a location you can walk to and explore.

  • Illustrated world: Forests, coastlines, roads, towns and ruins are all drawn in. Zoom out to take in a whole region, or zoom in to the streets around you.
  • Interiors: Walk into any building, such as the Witherwold Mansion, and its roof lifts away on the map to show the rooms, floors and furniture around you.
  • Fog of war: Unexplored areas are partially hidden, shown only as a painted outline like an old seafarer's chart. Travelling reveals the map as you go.
  • Secret places: There are now secret locations that stay hidden on your map until you discover them.
  • Map icons: Shops, taverns, temples, dungeons and beast lairs are marked with icons on the map.
  • Character tokens: Characters appear on the map as tokens, and those near you show their portraits.

New Content & Visuals

  • Fort Vaelor has grown, with new halls to explore such as the Cloister of the Argent Hand, the Librarium of the Forbidden and the Court of the Condemned.
  • New NPCs have been added across the world, along with secret bosses waiting for players who go looking for them.
  • New characters in the Hinterlands include Boaramor, a great spring boar, Chunkie, the rooster of Totem Village, and a band of goblins at the Goose Pond.
  • A new intro cinematic now plays after character creation to start your story.
  • The character bar at the top of the game now has improved visuals with immersive illustrations and a health globe, and your status effects stay visible on phones.
  • Health and experience bars, navigation icons, map zoom buttons and quantity controls now have improved visuals, and the world map has a Close button.

Bosses

Boss fights can now shift through multiple phases as the battle unfolds, and the largest bosses now guard territory of their own.

  • Boss phases: As a boss loses health, it can change form in the middle of the fight and come at you with a new set of attacks.
  • Event and item triggers: Not every phase change comes from losing health. Certain boss phases are triggered by events or items instead, so how the fight plays out can change what you face.
  • Home turf: Gargantuan and waterborne bosses now hold their own territory, usually a wide area around their lair, and will not follow you beyond it. A few stay closer to home where it suits them, while humanoid and regular-sized bosses still roam freely.

Narrator Improvements

  • Out-of-character questions: The Narrator now handles out-of-character questions better, such as how a rule works or why a roll went the way it did, and answers them from actual game facts in a friendlier tone.
  • Fewer false claims: When the Narrator cannot confirm something, it now tells you plainly instead of guessing and makes false claims less often.

Sorcerer

  • Spells carried by Infusion now keep the extra damage from your gear and status effects.
  • Reverberation echoes and the second pulses of Moonbeam and Sunbeam now trigger on your next turn even when you type an action.
  • Hold Person and other condition spells cast on bosses now use your spell save and trigger Arcane Compulsion.
  • Area spells now move into range and catch the largest group of enemies.
  • Missiles in a volley, such as Arcane Barrage, now roll to hit separately.
  • Star of Judgment now gains one stack per spell instead of one per missile.
  • Forking Projectiles now explains that a harmless bounce sets off Reverberation around the target it bounces off.
  • Refused casts now name the spell you need and the item that grants it.
  • Fixed a bug where some companions dealt far less damage when your character was a Sorcerer.

Economy

Each town now runs its own market, where local prices rise and fall with supply and demand.

  • Supply and demand: Selling the same goods to a town again and again drives down what its merchants offer, both in that town and across the surrounding region. Goods a town has plenty of also cost less to buy there.
  • Town demand: Towns sometimes want certain goods for a period and pay more for them, rewarding you for bringing the right wares to the right market.
  • Merchants now pay more for cheap goods.
  • Paid work from settlements now has a higher minimum reward.
  • Increased the gold found at low levels.
  • Items you bought can no longer be sold back for more than you paid.

General Improvements

  • New characters now have one starting skill locked by their class instead of two, so you pick two of the three yourself.
  • Theft dice cards now warn you when the target is far above your level.
  • Damage breakdowns now show boss damage reduction and flat bonus damage on their own lines.
  • Added 10 new character voices and updated 21 others.
  • The game loads faster and downloads less when you open it.

Balance Changes

  • Crafted items can now reach item level 20 as your crafting skill rises from 16 to 20.
  • Naming a matching tool kit in your attempt, such as a Climber's Kit, now grants advantage on related checks.
  • Companions now roll Stealth with you when sneaking, and the group stays hidden if at least half succeed.
  • Trading face to face with someone outside your party now ends Hidden, and so does getting caught stealing.

  • Fixed a bug where bosses could act twice in one turn or join fights they were not part of.
  • Fixed a bug where befriended bosses attacked you and your companions.
