Undo and cancel

"Undo" and "Cancel" redirect here.

Undo takes back a turn that has already played out, and Cancel pulls a message back before the game has acted on it. They cover different moments, so the one you want depends on whether the turn has resolved yet.

Cancel

For a short window after you send a message, a Stop button sits in the chat controls. Pressing it pulls your message out of the conversation and puts it back in the input box, where you can edit it and send it again. The window holds for about two seconds and then hands off to the loading animation.

Cancel is not guaranteed, because the game may already have started acting on your message, in which case the cancel does not go through. You can cancel a given turn once. Cancelling costs no credits.

Undo

Undo rewinds the game to the moment before you sent your most recent message, and only that one turn can be taken back. Your message returns to the chat box so you can edit it and send it again.

An undo reverses what the turn did, so items you used or picked up come back, and movement and damage from that turn are put back as they were. A turn taken in combat can be undone like any other.

Undoing does not refund the credits that generated the original message. Because an undo rewinds a great deal at once, the story can occasionally come back slightly inconsistent.

What cannot be undone

  • A turn where your character died.
  • A scripted scene.
  • A tempering roll.

Your daily undos

Every plan gets free undos each day, and the allowance resets at midnight UTC.

Plan Free undos per day

Max 5

On a paid plan you can keep undoing after the day's free undos are spent, at 2 credits each. Free undos are always used first, and the confirmation window tells you when an undo will cost credits before you commit to it. The Undo button stays visible once your free undos are gone rather than disappearing.
