Alpha 0.0.25 is a game update released on 11 June 2026. This patch focuses on early game balancing and bug fixes.
Early Game Balancing
- New characters now start with better armor and supplies, a better weapon, and rebalanced gold.
- Rebalanced early creatures and characters to have less health and deal less damage.
- Skill checks are now less punishing when you aren't specialized in the matching stat.
- Early game enemies now drop more varied loot and weapons.
- Hostile enemies appearing in early areas now stay within your level range.
- Added a few new low-level elites to the early game. Take them on for some solid early gear before facing the tougher challenges ahead.
- Added a new opening quest from Howoll the tavernkeeper at the Golden Barrel tavern.
Combat
- Rooted, stunned, or immobilized characters (including you) can no longer attack beyond their reach.
- Distant enemies now close in before striking, and attackers spread out to fit their roles instead of piling onto one spot.
- Bleeds, poisons, and other ongoing effects now keep ticking on enemies as they close in.
- Conditions like prone, grappled, or frozen now wear off in minutes instead of lingering all day.
Balance Changes
- Party companions now heal on their own over time.
- Bosses now land few heavy hits instead of a flurry of smaller attacks.
- Items crafted from legendary ingredients now match the power of their ingredients, not the base item.
- Hiding mid-combat is now harder.
- Environmental hazards no longer kill bosses and other powerful enemies outright.
- Being heavily encumbered now slows your travel instead of blocking it outright, and travel confirmations show the slower pace.
General Improvements
- Character creation now recommends a primary attribute for your class.
- Dice roll outcomes are now more reliable, so succeeding a roll actually gets you what you rolled for.
- Small missteps no longer push your alignment steadily toward evil, and a genuine change of heart now moves it back.
- Movement commands like "go east" now take you the way you asked instead of the Narrator's guess.
- When you can't move (wounded, grappled, or pinned), the game now tells you why instead of narrating progress that didn't happen.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where inviting a new member could disband your party and block further invites.
- Fixed a bug where a companion you dismissed could keep following you.
- Fixed a bug where encountering a deity could freeze the game and lock you out of your character.
- Fixed a bug where signing in with Google on some iOS devices bounced you back to the login screen.
- Fixed bugs where you could get stuck inside a small room, or a group move could strand a party member in a different area.
- Fixed a bug where entering narrow or curved areas like roads or rivers could drop you outside of them.
- Fixed a bug where characters in your peripheral vision didn't show up in your location panel while indoors.
- Fixed a bug where looting or handing over the same item repeatedly could duplicate items or gold.
- Fixed a bug where a trader could take offense at you accepting their own asking price, or back out of an agreed sale.
- Fixed a bug where handing an ally a weapon could leave them wielding something else.
- Fixed a bug where enemies could hit you from far away, even as melee attackers.
- Fixed a bug where enemies at a camp you already cleared kept respawning forever.
- Fixed a bug where enemies could strike the moment they advanced, as if teleporting.
- Fixed a bug where the Narrator could say you killed an enemy when you hadn't.
- Fixed a bug where a character could misread the scene and react to things that weren't happening.
