Alpha 0.0.22 is a game update released on 23 May 2026. This patch expands the world with new forest and Heart of Thaulmyna content, rebalances combat, and makes trade prices more consistent.
New Content
- New locations and lore added to the Heart of Thaulmyna.
- New low-level areas added to the forest.
- A new resident has settled near the Totem garden. Pay them a visit!
Balance Changes
- Finesse weapons (daggers, rapiers, etc.) now use the higher of your STR or DEX for melee attacks.
- Armor: damage mitigation updated. Heavy hits now punch through more armor, so big attacks can no longer be chipped down to 1 damage.
- Evasion now factors in the attacker's accuracy. A goblin can no longer dodge strikes from a high-DEX character.
- Crafted gear scales noticeably with Creation. Higher levels produce items with better stats.
- Starting equipment updated. Every background now starts with a weapon.
- Potion crafting scales more consistently with Potions, and brewing grants Potions XP instead of Creation XP.
- Tougher enemies have more varied moves, including abilities outside their normal moveset.
- Attacking an enemy within striking distance now closes the distance automatically.
Trade Prices
- Quoted prices are more consistent, shaped by the trader and your Bartering skill.
- Once a trader quotes you a price, they'll honor it instead of changing it next turn.
- Bartered gold amounts now appear highlighted in gold. Tap them for offer details.
Mentions
- You can now tag feats in chat, alongside characters, items, locations, and skills.
- The mention picker now shows NPC distance and direction, and more detail on weapons and armor.
- Mention suggestions now match what you're typing more closely.
- You can still tag up to 3 references per message, but only one can be a skill (one roll per turn). Additional actions supplement that roll, so be creative.
General Improvements
- Map fog of war radius increased. You can see further around your character, making it easier to spot nearby points of interest.
- Critical hits now show in the effects interface.
- Item hover cards now show weapon properties (one-handed, finesse, etc.).
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where "Killed by you" could display for an NPC you didn't actually kill.
- Fixed a bug where the Narrator could describe a living character as dead or unconscious mid-exchange.
- Fixed a bug where a downed character's queued follow-up strike could still be narrated as landing.
- Fixed a bug where the Narrator could attribute attacks to characters or sources not in the scene.
- Fixed a bug where your Strength was occasionally misapplied to damage calculations.
- Fixed a bug where enemies could spot you more often than intended in stealth.
- Fixed a bug where your character could snap to the wrong location while moving.
- Fixed a bug where the character sheet could display a permanent stat reduction after a status effect wore off. Actual stats were unaffected.
- Fixed a bug where the alignment system treated normal combat kills as evil acts.
- Fixed a bug where inventory trades and buff expiry could leave items or status effects stuck.
- Fixed a bug where routine looting (a corpse, an open chest, an item already pointed out) would trigger an unnecessary Investigation roll.
- Fixed a bug where crafting an item from the inventory menu could trigger a duplicate dice roll afterward.
- Fixed a bug where the lower die in a disadvantage roll could display the wrong number.
- Fixed a bug where some character scenes did not display properly.
- Fixed a bug where the tutorial reminder reset every time you created a new character.
