Alpha 0.0.20 is a game update released on 16 May 2026. This patch improves the Stealth skill, enhances how the Narrator handles world-breaking actions, and fixes a wave of spawn, combat, and bartering issues.

Stealth Improvements

  • Successful stealth checks place your character in a temporary Hidden state.
  • Attacks made while Hidden have advantage, and attacks against you have disadvantage.
  • Noisy actions like attacking or yelling will end the hidden state.
  • Some NPCs and enemies can still spot you if they are perceptive enough. So choose your moment wisely.

Balance Changes

  • For Dexterity, Potions is now an active skill and Stealth is now a passive skill.
  • Crafted item power level will now scales with your Creation skill and Character level, so extremely powerful gear is no longer craftable with low Creation skill.

Interface

  • Permanent status effects are now displayed more prominently.
  • You can now open the feat selection interface directly from the skills panel.
  • NPC activity entries in chat can now be expanded to show more detail.

General Improvements

  • You can now trigger passive skill checks yourself, rather than waiting for the Narrator to trigger them.
  • NPCs make smarter in-character decisions during scenes and combat.
  • The Narrator now more reliably remembers when a character has died if they come up later in the session.
  • The Narrator pushes back more firmly when you attempt world-breaking actions. We are still tuning this, so let us know how it feels.
  • Feats trigger more reliably during play. Let us know if you notice a feat not firing when it should.
  • The item exchange interface now warns you when a trade asks for more gold or materials than you currently have.
  • Defeated NPCs and creatures now fade from the map a short time after they fall.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where spawned equipment could appear with the wrong base item or in the wrong equipment slot.
  • Fixed a bug where the game could rubberband and stutter in busy areas with many active characters.
  • Fixed a bug where crafted mundane items could pick up magical effects or unrelated lore from other items.
  • Fixed a bug where high-level enemies appeared too often in early-game zones.
  • Fixed a bug where vendor prices for the same item could be inconsistent.
  • Fixed a bug where some poison and healing effects could last indefinitely.
  • Fixed a bug where attacks could hit the wrong target or unintentionally hit allies.
  • Fixed a bug where the Narrator was too eager to enforce your stated story preference at every message.
  • Fixed a bug where the displayed dice number did not update as your modifiers were calculated during advantage and disadvantage rolls.
  • Fixed a bug where the alignment grid was misaligned.
