Alpha 0.0.28 is a game update released on 30 June 2026. This patch rebalances rest and fatigue, adds travel route and encounter choices, and lets NPCs learn of your actions.
Open Alpha
- NOPOTIONS is now open to everyone. You no longer need an invite to create a character and start playing. The game is still in Alpha and being actively developed.
Travel Encounters
- Long-distance travel now offers a choice of route: a faster direct path, or a longer route that avoids encounters.
- Travel encounters can now be engaged or skipped, skipping some encounters requires a roll.
Rest & Fatigue Rebalancing
We have rebalanced how fatigue builds and how rest clears it.
- Fatigue now accrues far more slowly, and penalties at every stage are reduced. It is no longer gained in combat unless you are reduced to Dying.
- Reduced the Long Rest cooldown to 8 hours, and you can now Long Rest any time while fatigued. Short Rests remove more fatigue.
- The Narrator now calls out when you cross into a higher fatigue stage.
Interface
- Loot Nearby: A new 'Your Turn' option after combat that lists every item on nearby corpses and the ground, taken in one action.
- Combat readouts now show when an attack is parried, and split blocked damage between your armor, shield, and level.
- Items with limited uses now show their remaining durability in your inventory.
- Lingering wounds are now marked as temporary and show how they clear, with a Long Rest or by visiting a healer.
- Defeated NPCs now appear faded in the nearby panel.
- Item weights now display as rounded values instead of long decimals.
General Improvements
- Recruited elite companions now deal far more damage and properly use weapons you give them, but their health now matches normal NPCs.
- Actions are now ruled Impossible far less often, so fewer attempts are auto-failed.
- The Narrator now references directions much more accurately, and hovering over one in chat shows the approximate distance.
- Increased NPC carrying capacity, so you can now give far more items to a trader or crafter at once.
- NPCs now gradually learn of significant events you cause. Closely connected NPCs reference them directly, distant ones only hear rumors. Past events are not included.
- The places you visit now change based on your actions. Clearing, fortifying, or corrupting a location reshapes it and its encounters for the rest of your campaign.
- Connecting your Discord account now grants 50 credits, and the alpha feedback survey now grants 20. These apply from this patch on, already claimed credits are unchanged.
