Alpha 0.0.3 is a game update released on 2 January 2026. We've been hard at work improving character interactions and memory systems. Here's what's new.
This patch includes an improved long-term memory system. Please let us know if the Narrator feels smarter, remembers things better, or if something feels off!
New Features
- Do/Say Actions Choose how your character communicates. Toggle between action and dialogue modes via the game controls button.
- Credits Display See your remaining credits directly in the profile dropdown.
- Relationship Updates Display See how your relationships with NPCs change as you interact. This was always happening behind the scenes, now with a dedicated display!
- Journal Consolidation Older journal entries now get summarized into easy-to-read recaps, and your past adventures become part of your world's lore in the compendium!
Improvements
- Faster Responses Improved response times for longer playthrough. More optimizations coming soon.
- Smarter Memory The Narrator now better remembers important details from your adventures. We're testing an improved long-term memory system.
- Better NPC Interactions NPCs now engage with you and each other more naturally over time.
- Disband Party Button Added a quick button to disband your party when needed.
- Skills Button (Desktop) Moved the 'Use Skills' button out of the game controls to its own dedicated spot in the chat console.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed characters not spawning correctly when entering new areas (more improvements coming next patch)
- Fixed relationships not updating properly during conversations
- Fixed the Narrator sometimes forgetting a character had died after changing locations
- Reduced instances of non-existent characters appearing in scenes (still improving this)
- Fixed movement glitches when entering a location you were already at the edge of
- Fixed newly created characters sometimes not appearing immediately
- Fixed an issue causing skill checks to happen less often than they should
